Hip-Hop Report
New albums, vinyl drops and the records that matter, picked by the DJs who’ve been rocking New York since ’96. Only the real, no filler.
Rakim, Kurupt & Masta Killa Unite on “The Godbody LP”
Rakim, the God MC, joins Kurupt of the Dogg Pound and Wu-Tang’s Masta Killa on The Godbody LP, out on Team League Entertainment. Rakim and Nick Wiz produced the whole album, so the R is behind the boards again, not just on the mic.
The guest list reads like a hall of fame roll call: Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Daz Dillinger, Buckshot, Snoop Dogg, and KRS-One with Kool G Rap on “Still Ill!” East Coast foundation and West Coast lyricism trading bars over drums that knock. Run it loud.
